3 Life-Changing Books for Building Better Habits
A few Black Friday Deals on my favourite books.
Atomic Habits by James Clear
One of the most influential books in my life. Atomic Habits is about creating new habits by starting small and setting yourself up for success, not disappointment. His newsletter is well worth signing up for as well.
The Daily Stoic by Ryan Holiday
Ryan Holiday's books on stoicism have had the biggest effect on my life, by far. His first book, The Obstacle Is the Way, is a great starting point to explore it. An easier starting point, I think, is The Daily Stoic - one or two pages a day for a full year to help you explore the concepts and mantras found in his other books. It's a book I can easily re-read and have done so since it was published in 2016.
Meditations for Mortals by Oliver Burkeman
This book is in a similar vein to The Daily Stoic and Atomic Habits. The best way to change who you are is by building habits that produce changes in yourself over time. With this book, Burkeman helps you get started by giving you something to think about every day for 28 days, with four sections covering weekly themes. It was just published in October, so it's full of modern references but also touches on older ideas linked to Stoicism. I have a feeling it will be found on many "Book of the Year" lists in the coming weeks.
These three books are up to 50% off and possibly even cheaper if you get the audiobook versions. Of course, there are many more deals happening on Amazon and other sites today.
