Three Yukoners to receive the Order of Yukon

This is an incredible achievement for all three, but the one I am most familiar with is Mary Sloan, one of my high school theatre teachers that piqued my interest in theatre and the performing arts long ago. I wrote quite a bit about her nearly ten years ago when she retired from teaching in my post titled Exit the Queen.

I am glad that she will be recognized for all her work with youth in the school system in the Yukon and her work more broadly in the arts community, which still continues to this day.
